2012 National Age Group Triathlon - 6th Provincial Leg
About the Event
Cagayan de Oro City will once again be hosting this year's 6th Provincial leg of the National Age Group Triathlon this coming July 8, 2012. The event will be held at the Chali Beach resort, Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. Two categories will be featured in this year's Cagayan de Oro City leg: Full distance and Sprint. Both categories will be open for Individual and Relay competitors.
Race Categories
Full (Olympic) Distance - 1.5Km swim, 40Km bike and 10Km run
Sprint Distance - 750m swim, 20Km bike and 5Km run
Individual - single participant, male or female
Relay - 2 or 3 members per team, male/female/mixed group
Race Routes
STANDARD DISTANCE
1) SWIM LEG - From starting point, race participants swim in a clockwise direction around a 375-meter area demarcated by a triangular rope with floatation buoys. Each segment of the triangular swim area is 125 meters in length. Race participants must do 4 LOOPS for the standard distance.
2) BIKE LEG - From T1, race participants must ride their bikes toward TURN-AROUND POINT A and continue towards TURN-AROUND POINT B then head back towards TURN-AROUND POINT A to complete a loop. Riders must complete 4 LOOPS for the standard distance before heading back to T2.
3) RUN LEG - After dismounting from their bikes at T2, runners must now head towards TURN-AROUND POINT A and continue towards TURN-AROUND POINT B then immediately head back towards the FINISH LINE at Chali Beach Resort.
SPRINT DISTANCE
1) SWIM LEG - From starting point, race participants swim in a clockwise direction around a 375-meter area demarcated by a triangular rope with floatation buoys. Each segment of the triangular swim area is 125 meters in length. Race participants must do 2 LOOPS for the sprint distance.
2) BIKE LEG - From T1, race participants must ride their bikes toward TURN-AROUND POINT A and continue towards TURN-AROUND POINT B then head back towards TURN-AROUND POINT A to complete a loop. Riders must complete 2 LOOPS for the sprint distance before heading back to T2.
3) RUN LEG - After dismounting from their bikes at T2, runners must now head towards TURN-AROUND POINT A and continue towards 5K RUN TURN-AROUND POINT then immediately head back towards the FINISH LINE at Chali Beach Resort.
